Invergordan Service Base, Invergordan, Scotland
Invergordan Service Base, Invergordan,
Mc Laughlin & Harvey in conjunction with DLF Daviot Group engaged Foyle & Marine Dredging to supply a long reach excavator to carry out extensive rock armour protection around the new Service Base development at Invergordan.
Prior to placing the rock armour, Foyle & Marine dredged the perimeter toe batter and prepared the existing batters by reducing the slope to design spec in preparation for secondary and primary rock armour.
Foyle & Marine equipped the EX1200 long reach with a rock grab and PCX Pro computer system. The EX1200 was operating from the CM1100C barge which was capable of transporting large quantities of rock armour at any one time.
The EX1200 was able to provide the client with the option of self-loading the 3 tonne rock armour onto the barge due to its 30M outreach capabilities. This provided reduced costing and allowed rock armour to be loaded from the top of batter on the barge without a quay wall facility.
